Mens Underwear - The Male Fashion Statement

In recent years the rage in male fashion is underwear. Male underwear designers have created a new buzz in undergear for men. Plain white cotton briefs (tighty-whiteys) seem to be on the endangered list for extinction, except for designers such as Hugo Boss and Calvin Klein, possibly because they have some of the hottest male models in the industry promoting them.

Underwear for men have become increasingly sexy, offering a multiplicity of styles, colors, messages and even different purposes. Underwear that is not only tailored for comfort, but fun to wear.

Women have jumped on the bandwagon, increasing sales for many designers, wanting to purchase something more exciting for their guy to wear.

One woman we heard from recently admits to buying underwear for her guy, spending several hundred dollars a month to dress him down under. Her selections have been from Hugo Boss, Armani, C-In2, Ginch Gonch, 2xist, D&G, Clever, Mundo, Gigo, Papi and her list goes on. This woman says she typically spends between $24.95 to $85.00 per pair, not a package of three, but a pair!

Certainly a shortage of male models displaying the new designs is close to non-existent. The craze has opened doors for many new male models from around the globe.

So, when did the need for male undergear begin? It is hard to say, however, remnants of leather loincloths have been found with the remains of pre-historic man living 7,000 years ago. Egyptians of the 2nd millenium B.C. used fabric to form an undergarment over which they wore a skirt. In tombs of the pharaohs supplies for further use after death were buried with them.

Today the tide is changing and maybe it is a good thing, especially for the designers, for those wearing them and those persons purchasing them for their guy.

One Supermodel whose underwear ads have sold millions for Dolce and Gabbana, among other designers, is David Gandy. David is one of the most well-known male fashion models in the male fashion industry.
