Former Couple and Designing Partners Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana Denounce Children Outside of Traditional Families

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, the famous designing pair for the luxury brand Dolce and Gabbana, and a former couple in a relationship for 23 years, said in an interview with Italy's Panorama magazine "We oppose gay adoptions," they told the publication. "The only family is the traditional one.

"No chemical offsprings and rented uterus: life has a natural flow, there are things that should not be changed."

Dolce said that creating children "must be an act of love", adding: "You are born to a mother and a father – or at least that's how it should be."

"I call children of chemistry, synthetic children. Uteri [for] rent, semen chosen from a catalog."

Stefano Gabbana added, "The family is not a fad. In it there is a supernatural sense of belonging."

In response to the interview and quotes by the designing team, Sir Elton John has vowed to boycott fashion label Dolce & Gabbana after the designers slammed same-sex families. The music industry superstar posted a photograph of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana on Instagram and branded them "judgemental" and "archaic"

Sir Elton John and husband David Furnish have sons Zachary, four, and Elijah, two, who were born to the same surrogate mother in California in 2010 and 2013.


Sir Elton wrote a scathing post, ranting at the designers: "How dare you refer to my beautiful children as "synthetic".


"And shame on you for wagging your judgemental little fingers at IVF - a miracle that has allowed legions of loving people, both straight and gay, to fulfil their dream of having children.

"Your archaic thinking is out of step with the times, just like your fashions. I shall never wear Dolce and Gabbana ever again. His post added the hashtag #BoycottDolceGabbana."

Instagram fans of Sir Elton John commented on his post in support of the superstar.

"Sir Elton! You are a true inspiration to me and millions of people! As a father of 4 i know what the fantastic feeling of a child means.

"You are the best patents for your children. DG are not even worth commenting! They have probably not experienced that special love from a child to a parent and vice versa. Keep up your great work.

Dolce and Gabbana's fashion promotions often depict sexually motivated  advertisements with men and men, as well as several men with one woman.

While sexual diversity is promoted profoundly to appeal to both heterosexual  and homosexual consumers, Domenico and Stefano are standing their ground when it comes to artificial insemination, surrogacy, and other methods of producing children for families whom desire having children in their lives, outside of what is typically thought of as, "the traditional family."

Sir Elton John is gathering a large amount of fan support, while Dolce and Gabbana appear to remain unmoved by this development. The former couple were cleared of tax evasion charges in 2013, will the luxury fashion designers win this call for a boycott as well?
