An established trained actor; Christine Solomon is of Egyptian, Syrian and Lebanese ethnicity; born in Egypt and raised in Montreal from the age of seven. A member of The Egyptian Actor’s Union, she has performed in a wide range of productions across Canada, United States and Egypt. She is also related to famous Egyptian director Sandra Nashaat.
Christine has been a performer since her tender years and took up gymnastics at the age of eight. She thrived from the very beginning until the age of twelve when she developed an interest in the art of theatre. Solomon began modeling at the age of thirteen after winning several competitions; among them are The International Modeling and Talent Association (IMTA) and Model Search America.
The young starlet became professionally involved when she met producer and choreographer Roberto Izzi; formally known for introducing La Lambada to Canada in the early 90’s. She toured with his troupe portraying different characters on stage.
In Basra, Christine plays Bouthina “Femme Fatale” in a love triangle between Bassem Samra and Yara Goubran. In order to win her ex-love’s heart back, she tries different tactics including dating his best friend.
Basra won for Best Script Award at The Alexandria Film Festival 2003, for Best Cinematography Award at The XXIX Mostra De Valencia 2008, for Best Script Award at The 32nd Cairo International Film Festival 2008 and for Best Director Award and 3rd Bronze Award for Production at The National Film Festival - Egypt 2009. It has also been selected for official competition at The 32nd São Paulo International Film Festival 2008, Pan African Film Festival 2009 and it has been screened at The Cape Winelands Film Festival 2009.
Her upcoming film Heliopolis (2009), directed by Ahmad Abdalla, is the most anticipated film. Solomon plays an obnoxious gothic girl that finds herself stuck in a Heliopolis hotel.

An original pay TV movie, Fakers is a Cité-Amérique production with producer Greg Dummett (Last Casino, Lost and Delirious), directed by Pierre Gill (Last Casino) and written by Jesse McKeown (DaVinci’s Inquest, Robson Arms). Currently in pre-production. It will premiere on Movie Central and The Movie Network in spring 2010.
